Master Takeyasu was the mentor of both Zoom and Zen and a member of the Order of the Flying Fist. He also had some contact with Rawkus, as he mentioned that he met him and he was very wise. In Full Revolution he was killed by a Karmordial, it is also not known for sure but he has a connection with the Sentients as it was shown in EP 38 = Mouth of the Dragon that during the final part of the episode it had been a long time since he last saw Krytus, thus showing that he already knew about the existence of the battle zones and the Sentients, as during the final part of the episode the Sentient Sadie discovers hidden in Master Takeyasu's garden a hidden message in the Sentient language, thus showing that he is not just any character, as he has a past that shows connection with the Sentients.

Master Takeyasu is a old man who is quite versatile for his age. He has shown proficience in combat, as he was able ot hold his own against both Krytus and Kyburi. He is also very agile and accurate.
